We are pleased to announce the “KAYABUKI -Thatching for Tomorrow-” Exhibition at Lugtje, featuring the Japanese thatched roof company ‘KUSAKANMURI’ by Ikuya Sagara. The exhibition focuses on the preservation of the ancient architectural and thatching techniques, while also diligently seeking innovative possibilities and creating new traditions for the future. We sincerely hope to deliver the aesthetics and grace of this exhibition to all attendees.
ルフチェでは日本の茅葺き職人・相良育弥が主宰する「くさかんむり」による『KAYABUKI展』を開催いたします。世界古来の建築・屋根葺き技術である茅葺きの継承と共に、常に未来に向けその技術と創造性の可能性を模索し、積極的に新たな伝統創出を求む姿を展覧会に詰め込みます。
この展覧会を美しい様式美と併せてみなさまにお届けできれば幸いです。
KUSAKANMURI LTD.
Kusakanmuri, based in Ogo-cho, Kobe Japan, is a professional collective that endeavors to preserve and revitalize the traditional thatching technique, encompassing restoration of thatched roofs as well as venturing into contemporary thatching practices. They organize workshops and seminars to introduce thatched roofing to a wider audience.
Their mission goes beyond mere architectural endeavors, as they collectively explore and unlock the potential and allure of thatched roofing from various perspectives. They strive to refine and showcase the essence of this ancient craft to enrich the lives of present-day individuals.
With a shared purpose, Kusakanmuri dedicates itself to promoting the legacy of thatched roofing, revealing its manifold possibilities, and embracing the beauty it offers to contemporary society.
